Today we got one of our best looks at all the resident Orcas in L-pod. Most whale families are matrilineal in social structure. That means that the family is led by the eldest female. In L-pod the matriarch has been ALEXIS (L-12) but she is missing this year. Time will tell but the new matriarch appears to be L-25 (OCEAN SUN).
