Some hungry stellar sea lions at race rocks!
Some hungry stellar sea lions at race rocks!

NOV 6 2014 – Today we had an adventurous group head out on the water with Captain Ian! With high winds making their way towards Haro Strait and the Strait of Juan de Fuca they were prepared for a wet trip! Boy did they have a blast! Heading to Race Rocks the passengers enjoyed the full effect of our high-speed zodiacs zipping in and out of the waves and throwing their hands up for fun as if on a roller coaster. Once at Race Rocks the group had some great sightings of stellar sea lions feasting on some salmon. Ian said, “there were three groups of sea lions in the water all chomping down on salmon, while others were on the hunt for their meals.” As well as the hungry sea lions there were some happy harbour seals playing around in the waves!  Captain Ian described the trip as “a definite adventure that these passengers will not forget.” It’s trips like this that remind us of how awesome our marine wildlife is here in Victoria and the Salish Sea!
