What a morning it has been out on the Salish Sea! First, we crossed paths with BCX2201 and the 2021 calf of Scoop which surprised us by swimming by close our boat twice! The top of the calf’s pectoral fin is white. This is not super common but it allows us to see them glowing under the surface. Later, we also had some really neat bald eagle encounter: The adult bald eagle just caught a fish and was chased by a black oyster catcher and a juvenile bald eagle who wanted their share. To round it off, we spotted some harbour seals as well as a stellar and california sea lion.
