The ventral side of an Orca fluke!
The ventral side of an Orca fluke!

APRIL 6, 2016 – We certainly had a whale of a time on the water today! Captain Ian took his zodiac full of excited passengers all the way to the south end of Boundary Bay, where they had an encounter with 3 small groups of Transient Killer Whales, including a young one!

After leaving the Transients, we bumped into one of our Resident Killer Whale pods – it was J-Pod again! These whales were feeling frisky, exhibiting multiple breaches, spy hops, and tail slaps! It sure is beautiful seeing a whale doing their thing out in the wild.

On our way back to Victoria, we stopped at Green Point on Spieden Island. Here we were lucky to find a group of noisy sea lions! What a fantastic day.
