JUNE 4 2018 – Today, we saw the T49As! This is a family of 5 Transient Killer Whales, including a young calf and large male. After some time with them we headed for Race Rocks to look at the abundant wildlife there. On and around the rocks we saw many species of birds, California Sea Lions, Steller Sea Lions, Harbour Seals and one large Elephant Seal. At four and a half meters in length and two and a half tons they are the largest seals in the world. They are also excellent deep divers with the record being a depth of 1500 meters and a breath hold for 2 hours! What a beautiful place we live!
