Saturday Nov 3rd – Today we spent the day with 3 members of the Transient Killer Whale pod the T65’s. Normally this group consists of Mom and her 4 offspring, however, for the past many months the eldest three offspring have split off from mom.
Today we headed north to Speiden Channel where we caught up with these critters. They seemed to be in hunting mode and were travelling back and forth in search for food. Transients Killer Whale’s preferred foods in this area are Harbour Seals and Harbour Porpoise and we sure do have a lot of both species around here!
We are heading out again on Tuesday and look forward to filling you in on what we see 🙂
