Humpback Flukes (Ian Roberts)
Humpback Flukes (Ian Roberts)

DEC 14, 2015 – The weather was absolutely gorgeous as Captain Ian and his passengers headed out on calm waters under sunny skies! The first stop of the trip was near Albert Head, where the group saw some majestic Bald Eagles. Then it was off to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve to observe the many California and Stellar Sea Lions and Pacific Harbour Seals that laze on the rocks for much of the day. These animals love to make noise! Constantly barking at their neighbours, they always appear to be having a great time. After spending some time enjoying the show, the boat headed to the Beecher Bay area, and managed to find three beautiful Humpback Whales! These guys were very playful, performing cartwheels and showing off their fins. On the way home, passengers got to see a huge number of bird life milling around a large bait ball – a big school of fish. It was a whale of a time!
