Spy hopping! A curious member of J Pod

MARCH 19 2017 – Today we had the pleasure of spending lots of time with J Pod, one of our Southern Resident Community pods.  The day started off as a sunny, mild morning.  The sun continued to shine throughout the day and the wind stayed light.  It was the perfect day to be out on a Zodiac with Captain Ian.

When we came across J Pod they were most certainly in search of food.  These Resident Killer Whales eat Salmon and spend their days foraging for just that!  It was so nice to see these wild animals in their natural habitat searching for food as a family unit!  Besides from great views of J Pod we also spent time at Race Rocks where we saw scores of Seals, Sea Lions and many Bald Eagles.  All in all it was another successful day on the water with SpringTide.
