JUNE 28, 2016 – Captain Ian, along with Skippers Greg and Barry, started off the wonderful day aboard a couple of our high-speed zodiac vessels and our covered motoryacht, the Marauder IV. They headed North, towards Stuart Island and caught up with some transient killer whales. When they found them, it looked they had just finished hunting and were now celebrating! They were spy-hopping and breaching; an incredibly exciting thing to see.
Yet again, the weather conditions couldn’t have been better. The sun was shining and the sea was a beautiful clear blue, making for some amazing photo opportunities. Skipper Greg went out in the evening for one of our Whale Watching Sunset Tours. They found some playful transients again just near Darcy Island, who put on quite a show for all of our lucky passengers. Another successful and exciting day!
