JULY 18 2017 – We welcome members of our southern resident orcas back to the Salish Sea. Almost a month since our last encounter with the residents but today we could see orcas from L-pod again. Center for whale research reported it was 19 out of 35 members that visited us today. Hope they come back again with the whole L-pod family (they left again on the 19th in the morning). We spend the whole day with them and they were hunting salmon and socializing. The 2 pm tour was lucky to see a minke whale on the way back from the orcas. A species we don’t see to often.
