AUGUST 12 2017 – Orca day! We had several family groups of Bigg’s transient orcas in the area today. In the morning we saw a pod made up of females and younger whales. We could identify T41’s and T69 and T69E (possible T69F too). T41’s are grandmother T41 and her daughter T41A and grandchild T41A2. The T69’s were mother T69 and at least her child T69E. Where the rest of the T69’s are we don’t know, missing was big male T69C! In the afternoon the families T10’s and T60’s were back around Chain Islands where we saw them yesterday morning! The transient orca sightings lately has been great!
