JUNE 20 2018 – Today, our morning and afternoon tours traveled southeast towards Hein Bank where they saw the Southern Resident Killer Whales from J and L-Pod! Upon our arrival, the Residents were very spread out; however, during the last portion of our viewing, they started a feeding frenzy that included porpoising and many tail slaps!
On our way back to Victoria, we stopped by Discovery Island to see some Harbour seals and show some bull kelp to our passengers. At SpringTide, we always try to incorporate other aspects of our marine environment into our tours, so that we can provide the best educational experience possible!
In the afternoon, our Zodiac vessels headed North East again towards the San Juan Islands. We were fortunate to catch up with the J-Pod and watch them for another tour.
Overall, today was a great day and we are so happy to see Residents in our waters!
