MAY 20 2018 – Our week of enjoying the return of the Humpbacks continued this afternoon with both our zodiacs along with our covered vessel having some time with Humpback Whales. On this day the whales were slowly traveling and we were excited to see some nice flukes as they went down for some deep dives. Fun Fact: when whales go down for deep dives they are able to collapse their lungs forcing the air up into the nasal cavity in order to prevent the bends a common problem for scuba divers. Awesome!! We also made a stop at Race Rocks, an ecological reserve, where we got a good look at Harbour Seals and both California and Stellar Sea Lions.
