JUNE 1 2017 – Killer whales; both Bigg’s and southern residents and also a humpback whale, today we saw it all! On the morning tours we headed south out in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and found a humpback whale and after that we got news of Bigg’s killer whales nearby. The killer whales followed the coast and it was amazing to see them with the trees and rocks in the background! The afternoon treated us with our beloved J-pod of the southern resident killer whales. They were spread out in a large area searching for fish. We got to see a few of them close to our boat and even some tail-slapping! Join us tomorrow for more adventure, our big boat leaves at 2 pm!
