JULY 6, 2015 –¬†Today our boats headed east towards San Juan Island, where we caught up with our resident orcas. We were amazed to see how many orcas were there, and the naturalists onboard identified killer whales from both J pod and K pod in the area! The orcas were being very social, traveling in big groups near the island, only stopping to breach every few minutes, giving our guests an amazing view! Both a calf and male were spotted breaching as well. On the way home we stopped to check out our harbour seals at the Chain Islands. Overall amazing trips!

A film crew, with journalist David Whitehill from Australia joined the afternoon tour to capture footage for the Today Show back “down under”. ¬†Look for a link on our facebook and here on the Captain’s Log in the fall, when the show will be broadcast.
