Beautiful Humpbacks

August 23, 2016 – This morning our boats travelled south to Constance Bank and met up with a humpback whale. After watching it surface a few times we headed further west to see a humpback mom and calf. Shortly after our boats arrived on scene the whales went down for a deep dive and after a couple of minutes surprised our guests by surfacing right next to Marauder IV! Even our biologists screamed with surprise and excitement!

In the afternoon, with the sun still shining, our boats travelled west and found a pod of transient killer whales. Marauder and our zodiacs enjoyed watching them surface for a long time before heading to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve to check out some growling sea lions. Such an awesome day on the water!
