JUNE 20 2017 – Humpback Whale Show! In rough weather we had at least 4 humpback whales in an area putting on a great performance for us. They started to breach and pec-slap all around us. Pec-slap is when they slam their long flippers or “arms” on the water surface. It was amazing to see these large animals throwing their whole body out of the water. Both passengers on our big boat Marauder and Zodiac passengers got to see the acrobatic whales. This is something we don’t get to see every day and made the trip out in the rough sea well worth it! Whale watching can also be great in rough weather.
