APRIL 30 2017 – Killer whales seen today! It was at least 5-6 transient killer whales that we found traveling west passed Race Rocks Lighthouse. One big male was with them and his big dorsal fin was impressive to see breaking the water surface when he came up to breath. At one point the whales was heading straight towards us and dove down when they got closer to the boat, magical! When we left them they still headed towards the west and maybe left the area for the Pacific Ocean. We returned to harbor after another successful trip!
