T65A Orca Pod

Apr 15, 2019 – All six members of the T65A Transient family were spotted on our tour today with Captain Marty and our guests! The T65A family comprise of T65A, the head of the family known as Artemis, and her five offspring.

Our guests and Captain Marty headed out towards Salmon Bank today in search of whales and other wildlife. What a treat it was to see the T65A family and to spend an hour with the magnificent six! The five offspring of Artemis are all fairly young, her eldest sons T65A2 and T65A3 were born in 2004 and 2007. Next in line is her daughter T65A4, who was born in 2011 and is quite often described as being curious and spunky! The youngest offspring, T65A5 and T65A6 were born in 2014 and 2018, and are growing up very quickly!

Along with these incredible wildlife sightings, our guests also saw Steller Sea Lions, Harbour Seals and Harbour Porpoises, and Bald Eagles! It was a jam packed trip that left smiles on everybody’s faces after returning to downtown Victoria’s harbour.
