A Majestic Bald Eagle
A Majestic Bald Eagle

JAN 9 2016 – What an adventure! The weather was on and off for a little while but when Captain Ian and his zodiac full of exited passenger left the dock, sun rays were poking through the clouds and illuminating the dark ocean beautifully! The zodiac took a different route today as they headed East… way East! They got a fast-paced tour along the spectacular coast of San Juan Island and went all the way to Boundary Pass. The Marine Wildlife Winter Tour today was great success with viewings of some massive sea lions lounging on some rocks, a group cute harbour seals lazing about and many views of¬†absolutely gorgeous and massive bald eagles. These birds are always a welcome sight with their amazing 6 foot wingspan and distinctive white heads. One of the coolest facts of bald eagles is that they mate for life, and a couple will always return to the same nest year after year. Pretty amazing birds! We’re heading out again this weekend, and we’ll be on the look-out for some more awesome wildlife!
