Originally from Northern Ontario, Tyson spent much of his youth exploring remote wilderness areas, including Algonquin Park and the many Canoe Portage routes therein. Tyson also played competitive Hockey into his early twenties, which emphasized the importance of being a team player, allowed him to explore much of Ontario and inspired him to experience new places. His passion for adventure led him to live in various parts of North America, including above the Arctic Circle for a full season, before settling on the West Coast of BC, where he has lived most of his adult life and has spent more than 25 years working in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. Tyson’s passion for wildlife and the natural environment led him to Tofino BC, where he spent over a decade showcasing the West Coast of Vancouver Island to visitors from around the world, as a Zodiac skipper, wildlife guide and naturalist. Tyson continues to be inspired on a daily basis by the vibrant spirit and natural environment surrounding Victoria and thoroughly enjoys sharing his passion and sense of humor with guests as they explore the Salish Sea, where each day is a new adventure. Tyson also enjoys shooting wildlife and landscape photography on and off the water, viewing this as a way to capture magical moments and share them with others.
