Zodiacs or “Rigid Hull Inflatables” are respected world wide for their excellent design and safety. A whale tour on these fast, open vessels is for those wishing to experience an exhilarating ride in the open air and sun.
You will be fitted with a Coast Guard approved full length “floatation suit” which provides comfort, safety and protection from the weather and is worn over your street clothing. Not to worry – there are many sizes available to choose from and great funny photo opportunities start here! The 12 passenger Zodiacs are powered with twin engines and are equipped with high tech safety equipment, the latest in satellite electronics and communications systems. A Hydrophone is onboard to listen for whale vocalizations beneath the vessel.

SpringTide does not recommend travel in the Zodiacs for people in frail health, with neck or spinal concerns, or for expectant mothers. Instead, join us on the Ocean Cruiser as her larger size provides more stable travel should heavy seas arise. Small children, especially those under 7 years of age, will also be more comfortable on the larger vessel.
